Each and every town in the Moscow region will be equipped with the Ferris wheel. This was announced by Evgeny Khromushin, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing of Moscow region:
- The Governour has entrusted us with a task to set Ferris wheels in the Moscow region towns. The main challenge is to find such a place that will allow a nice city view from above.
Ferris wheels will be set as a part of the Federal Priority Project “Shaping modern urban environment”. The project will be implemented within 2017-2021. Locations will be chosen by open voting of citizens.
In 2017, 134 objects have already been created under the scope of a federal project. These are modern public environment facilities established on the abandoned park areas and open spaces that hadn’t been used before.
- In 2018, the implementation of federal program will continue. Over 140 modern facilities will be created in Moscow region. Every resident of Moscow region will be able to vote for the priority of including their park into the program or for its functionality, - clarified Khomushin.
The first Ferris wheel will be set in the Central culture and leisure park of Lyubertsy in 2018.
- Along with it, we plan to set in each park a large carousel. There will also be cafes, - the Minsiter added. – We’ve listened to the residents’ suggestions today, and we will consider them during the second work execution phase. The elderly people asked for an indoor pavilion where they can spend time both on a hot and rainy days. They also want special fitness equipment for seniors. For younger generation, the workout area and kiddie swings will fit in here nicely.
