First solar-powered Ferris wheel in Moscow will be inaugurated in the new theme park Skazka in Krylatskoe. The ride will contain 18 six–seat closed cabins. Each cabin will be themed by the well-known in Russia fairytale characters, such as Baba-Yaga, Firebird, Forest Spirit and others.
It’s planned that the Ferris wheel will be powered by solar energy in the summer of 2017, while this summer and in cold season it will be employed by electricity. Thus the power saving mode will be activated. “It will be powered by electricity on cold days and by solar energy on hot summer days. This will be a year-round ride,” according the press service information.
The first guests will be able to enjoy the ride in August.
The Ferris wheel meets international, European safety and eco standards
The Skazka theme park was open just recently in early summer of 2016.
As for other projects of Ferris Wheels it’s planned to install the largest in Moscow 135 meter Ferris wheel at VDNH in 2018.
